The Hungarian farm producers have the right to obtain export subvention from the first day of the EU-membership.

Becoming member of the EU we have become a part of the Common Agricultural Policy of the Union, which changes the regulation of the Hungarian agriculture basicly. The agriculture is one of the most important sectors in the EU, which is represented by

• the regulations concerned and
• the wide range of support opportunities.

As a result of the joining the Hungarian agriculture can operate in such supported conditions in the common market of the EU, that can assure the terms of a fair competition. From the first day of the EU membership the Hungarian farm producers have the right to take part in the system of the intervention of the Community, and they can obtain export subventions. The export subvention is available for the Hungarian producers and exporters at a 100 per cent level, therefore selling safety will significantly improve, the income becomes more calculable and easier to plan.

The real advantages are given by

• on one hand the good circumstances of the Hungarian agriculture
• on the other hand the possibilities of the Common Aricultural Policy.

The natural capabilities of our country have a competitive adventage over the other EU countries. The Common Agricultural Policy as a market regulation in the sector of rural development offers a greater source and subventions for the Hungarian agriculture than formerly.

The EU regulates the foreign trade of agricultural products to the "third countries" by lots of means from which the most important are:

• export licences and
• export refunds.

In case of certain products - above a defined amount - an export licence is always required, in case of some other products this licence is necessary for the export refunds only.

• applications for the export subventions
